The NACCSGBI Committee are delighted to announce a change in the usual Conference Dinner for this years ASM!


After a day of training, listening, networking and focusing, we know you like to unwind and relax amongst your colleagues and peers. What a better way to do this than in the fun and lively atmosphere of a traditional ceilidh? We will be joined by Drams Ceilidh Band who will provide a high energy evening of entertainment. As we all know, dancing can assist with stress, it can boost your energy levels, help you to relax and its fun! If the thought of dancing fills you with dread, why not come along and have a laugh at everyone attempting to ‘strip the willow’ and dance the ‘Hooligan’s Jig’ whilst soaking up the atmosphere?

The ticket includes a complimentary drink on arrival, a chance to dance the night away and a simple evening buffet later in the evening. Dress code is relaxed, but if you fancy hiring a kilt and really getting into the Scottish theme you can find out where to do this below.

What is a Ceilidh?

Originally the word Ceilidh (kay-lee) descended from the Gaelic word for ‘gathering’ or ‘party’… However, these days when people think of a Ceilidh, they think of a fun-filled night of wild dancing, good music and great company! A ceilidh is a traditional Gaelic social gathering which usually involves Celtic music and dancing.

The Ceilidh will be performed by the Drams Ceilidh Band. The Drams Ceilidh Band features 4 of Scotland’s finest folk musicians, each boasting a wealth of worldwide touring and performing experience with some of the biggest names on the UK music scene, such as the Skerryvore, Red Hot Chilli Pipers, Manran, Roddy Hart & The Lonesome Fire, Scott Wood Band, Ímar and Rura. The band are renowned for their modern ceilidh sound and high-energy performances. They have performed at over 500 ceilidhs around the world.
